Petition to protect pension funds
At the federal level, you can sign a petition to ensure that vulnerable seniors receive 100% of the pension benefits that their employer has committed to pay them. It is online until June 5.
Petition to increase Old Age Security
Again, at the federal level, a petition is calling for a substantial increase of Old Age Security (OAS) pension for all eligible seniors aged 65 and over. It is online until June 2.
Petition to review electricity rates
In Québec, a petition is asking to give back to the Régie de l’énergie the power to set Hydro-Québec’s rates annually and to freeze Hydro-Québec’s rates until they are set by the Régie de l’énergie. It is online until May 1st.
Petition to protect tenants
A petition on the National Assembly website asks, among other things, to amend articles 1955 and 1959 of the Civil Code of Québec, in order to ensure the protection of tenants’ rights and to prohibit the change of use of a building for housing, especially in the case of an RPA. It is online until May 25.
