Réseau FADOQ welcomes the Ministry of Health and Social Services’ (MSSS) initiative to develop a health prevention strategy focused on promoting healthy lifestyle habits and early screening. On behalf of its members, FADOQ will actively participate in the public consultations organized by the National Director of Public Health, Dr. Luc Boileau, in the coming months.
“Active aging and maintaining the autonomy of older adults, both today and in the future, are important issues for FADOQ. We encourage the Quebec government to include these priorities in its work,” said FADOQ President Gisèle Tassé-Goodman.
FADOQ supports its members aged 50 and over by helping them maintain an active lifestyle through a wide variety of leisure, physical, and sports activities. As the largest organization of older adults in Quebec and Canada, it gets over 70,000 people to be physically active every week.
Three priorities
As part of this health prevention strategy, FADOQ highlights three key public health priorities:
Réseau FADOQ remains committed to actively contributing to the development of public policies addressing the challenges of an aging population in Quebec.
Its participation in the upcoming consultations will aim to promote a pragmatic approach, centered on the real and diverse needs of older adults today and in the future, while respecting their autonomy and dignity.
