Brief – Bill 31

This brief was presented to the Committee on Health and Social Services during consideration of Bill 31, the Act to amend mainly the Pharmacy Act to facilitate access to certain services.

In the brief, Réseau FADOQ urged the Québec government to take steps to ensure that Quebec’s health insurance plan (RAMQ) would cover the clinical procedures pharmacists would be allowed to perform once the bill was adopted.

Réseau FADOQ argued that the following services should be covered under Quebec’s health insurance plan: prescription and administration of vaccines and, in emergency situations, certain other drugs, and adjustment or extension of prescriptions.

The network also raised the issue of the contribution scale for prescription drug purchases by seniors eligible for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).
