Carolle Lozeau has been a fan of FADOQ since she became a membrer in 2023, especially for the pickleball activities. But since March, the FADOQ – Rive-Sud–Suroît Region member has 226,495 more reasons to love it. That’s the number of dollars she won by purchasing the winning ticket in the recent provincial 50/50 raffle.
“It was such a lovely surprise!” said the retiree, who bought her ticket shortly before the end of the sales period.
When she saw “FADOQ” pop up on her phone screen on March 12, Ms. Lozeau didn’t immediately connect it to the draw. Thinking it was a call about renewing her membership, she didn’t consider it urgent—especially since her phone was having technical issues.
But when “FADOQ” appeared again shortly after, she laughed and thought, “They’re really intense about that membership card!” Luckily, the member of the St-Joachim de Châteauguay club eventually spoke with someone from the organization—and learned the big news.
Thanks to this sizable jackpot, Ms. Lozeau plans to finance some renovations to her home.
In this first-ever provincial 50/50 raffle, over 300,000 tickets were sold through the Rafflebox platform, generating a total amount of $452,990. FADOQ will use its share to enhance its activities and programs for the benefit of all its members. A second provincial 50/50 raffle is scheduled before the end of 2025.
