FADOQ proposes key priorities for the health prevention strategy
Réseau FADOQ welcomes the Ministry of Health and Social Services' (MSSS) initiativ...
Monique Papillon worked in a law firm for 40 years. It was four decades of stress.
When she retired, she had to move into escape mode.
Now aged 64, the Brossard woman and her husband Simon, 68, intend to make two trips a year, including some with a strong adventure component. Last winter, the couple traveled to the other side of the world, to Australia and New Zealand. She fell in love with both countries.
“They’re wonderful destinations, especially New Zealand! I’d move there any day,” she says. “It’s got everything: mountains, lakes, volcanoes, the sea. We had a wonderful time hiking there.”
Before Oceania, Monique Papillon visited Tanzania, Greece, Spain, England, France and Peru. In autumn 2024, she plans to head for Venice to celebrate her 65th birthday.
To defy one’s age, this sixty-something says we should carry on doing our regular daily activities after retirement. It’s also important to ignore the minor aches and pains while setting yourself certain limits, and not forgetting to put your pride aside.
“As we age, we have to accept certain situations,” she explains. “For example, taking a golf cart when it’s too hot.”
Monique Papillon recently rejoined FADOQ after a few years away from the organization. What she likes best: meeting new people and sharing her experiences.
Bon voyage!
