You may have heard of Nicole Jetté, better known as Mamie Air Fryer.
Ms. Jetté is certainly popular. She has a Facebook group (Fan du Air Fryer) with at least 123,000 members. And that’s not all.
It all started a little over four years ago, but the community really took shape during the pandemic, when people, cooped up in their homes, were looking for new ways to spice up their daily lives. The air fryer landed in many Québec kitchens during this period.
“At the beginning, my children were my only members,” she says. But by concocting tasty little recipes with the famous air fryer, we attracted 4,000 members. Then I gave an interview on Paul Arcand’s show. Needless to say, it exploded.”
Mamie Air Fryer is distinguished by the fact that she will soon turn 79. At this age, assuming the role of influencer is no easy task.
“I know I don’t fit the stereotype,” she laughs. “I’m very proud to have built this group, given the computer skills I possessed. My daughter-in-law and my children helped me a lot in the beginning. But the rest I learned as I went. Now, I feel comfortable with it. You should see me go with all my tablets. In this respect, I think I stand out.”
All this work brings many benefits to the Longueuil resident.

Nicole Jetté admits she has worked very hard to preserve her Facebook community. During peak periods, she says she responded to messages from 5:30 in the morning until late at night. To her regret, she is not affiliated with any companies and doesn’t earn anything with this group.
“Luckily, my members are really nice. It’s a group that loves to have fun. We’re not interested in squabbling.”
In addition to her Facebook group, Mamie Air Fryer has conducted a number of workshops in residences near her home. Above all, she loves the recognition it gives her and the fact that it puts a smile on people’s faces.
