People who know Daniel Crépault know how active he is. When he is not at the Centre de l’activité physique et sportive de l’Université du Québec in Trois-Rivières, he is pedaling either his road bike, mountain bike or fatbike.
Age has not dampened Daniel Crépault’s spirits and keeping in shape is a priority for the 71-year-old. His training schedule: 2,000-metre swim 3 times a week, 6- kilometre walk daily, winter and summer, and a few weight training sessions per week.
“I want to enjoy my grandchildren as long as possible,” he says. “And it’s important to me to set a good example.”
For as long as he can remember, Daniel Crépault has always sought to positively inspire the people around him.
“My father owned a grocery store. He instilled the value of hard work in me from when I was very young. He would often say to me, ‘set an example for your younger brothers.’ It has sort of become my motto.”
For Daniel Crépault, sitting still is not an option! He needs to be active to feel good about himself.
