FADOQ proposes key priorities for the health prevention strategy
Réseau FADOQ welcomes the Ministry of Health and Social Services' (MSSS) initiativ...
Emily Suess admits it up front: she is doing things she should have done a long time ago.
Previously fearful by nature, the Alma native has discovered her wild side, which has brought her enormous freedom.
“Just before the pandemic, I bought a Spyder motorcycle,” she says. “It was my retirement present. I just had to find an activity, otherwise I would have regretted it. I’m glad I let myself be adventurous.”
With her motorcycle, Emily Suess has become autonomous, riding awestruck along Québec’s most beautiful roads, often accompanied by a friend.
“Experiencing these trips has given me a lot of confidence. Basically, it has taught me that in life, you have to be daring.”
The 66-year-old has stored her motorcycle for the winter, but she won’t let that bring her down. As soon as the first snow falls in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, she’ll throw herself into another of her favourite activities: walking.
Emily Suess has one last piece of advice.
“Live your dreams, don’t just pass the time. I understand that people are afraid of running out of money if they spend it. I know that everything is expensive, but you still have to set aside a budget to enjoy life. That’s my humble opinion. I did a lot of activities with FADOQ during the pandemic, I signed up for almost everything that was offered on the different platforms. You have to keep busy, it’s the only way to keep going.”
