This brief was prepared for the pre-budget consultations held by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.
In the brief, Réseau FADOQ made 12 recommendations for the next federal budget.
These included a minimum increase of $50/month in the Guaranteed Income Supplement, a 10% increase in Old Age Security benefits available to all seniors eligible for the Old Age Security pension, increased protection for pension plans, as well as indexation of the Canada Health Transfer at 6% per year, plus adjustments to the calculation formula to take into account the aging of the population in the provinces and territories.
