Journalist and author Claudia Larochelle was on hand to give an overview of the life of this important female figure in Quebec history. Consisting of archival photos from Réseau FADOQ and Ms. Bouchard’s family, the exhibition paints a portrait of a social worker who was dedicated to breaking isolation among seniors and who boldly formed the first mixed seniors club at a time when the struggle for women’s rights was gaining ground at the start of the Quiet Revolution.
“The exhibition highlights the fact that, even 50 years later, our organization is more than ever in step with its founder’s vision. In 2020, Réseau FADOQ sees itself as a social safety net for all seniors, and a crucial shield against isolation and abuse,” said Réseau FADOQ chair Gisèle Tassé-Goodman.
The exhibition will be on display at major network events in 2021, including the FADOQ convention in La Malbaie in June.
