FADOQ would like to congratulate the federal Minister of Jobs and Families, Steven MacKinnon, on being entrusted with the responsibility for seniors’ affairs.
Mr. MacKinnon previously served as Minister for Seniors from July to December 2024.
FADOQ also wishes to point out that another former Minister for Seniors is part of the cabinet of newly appointed Prime Minister Mark Carney. Kamal Khera, who held the position of Minister for Seniors from October 2021 to July 2023, is now Minister of Health.
Mr. Carney was sworn in as Prime Minister last Friday following the resignation of Justin Trudeau. The cabinet he has formed may not last long, as elections could be called soon.
